The price of fine art

Comments

Hey, congrats on all the art busyness! That's great :) I totally sympathize w/you about the cost of framing. That's why i don't do it--I just paint on gallery-edge canvases and just finish the edges with black paint. I figure if the buyer wants to frame them they can get whatever kind of frame they want, but I think my stuff looks better unframed anyway--the couple of times I did frame some paintings I just went for the really thin black frames. But it's tough if you're working on paper, with photos or other media that doesn't look quite "finished" if you don't frame it.

I think of the framing places I've used (very little), this place in Westminster (close to Lil Saigon) was very good and reasonable: http://www.yelp.com/biz/artistic-gallery-westminster. It was recommended to me, and I was pleased with their work and pricing. They also used to cut me a deal if I paid cash, so definitely ask for that if you're interested. Whew, this is a long comment!

Hello Stephanie!

Thanks for the info, I'll definitely go check out the place in Westminister.

I've never framed my work before either, and I always use gallery-edge canvases as well and just put a wire behind it for haning, but this time around I need to frame four paintings for my parents house for a very special event.

When's your next exhibition? I am sorry that I missed your last one. :( Been a little too busy lately...
