What were you afraid of when you were younger that seems silly to you now?

Cockroaches. Let's just say I'm not deathly afraid of them but I at least have the courage to step on them now unlike before. hahaha...
there is a lady or i should say "lady" (she's female from what i can tell though her mustache throws me off sometimes) at work who wins the lwtsh award for most filthy person on earth. why?
in our office bathroom, you can hear every movement that goes on with any person who walks in, right down to rolling of the toilet paper roll.
today this "lady" does her business and does NOT use toilet paper. she simply gets up, zips up her pants, and walks out without WASHING her hands. tsk, tsk, such bad hyigene! i cringed when she opened the door and walked right out. i'd hate to be the one who does her dry cleaning IF she launders her clothes. GROSS!
This is something that Lil Curtis discovered! Apparently Yuki goes nuts for paper napkins. I guess Curti was on the couch eating something and when Yuki came to sit next to him he waved a paper napkin in front of him and he started going crazy. This has been confirmed by Big Curtis, who took some pics, which I thought were totally kawaii:
was happy to read in sept 2008 issue of Lucky Mag that Pacific Palm's Resort Spa (Industry Hills) was included in the list of spas in LA that is recommended. about damn time they recognize something in the SGV! i mean, who doesn't know that West LA and all those places have great spas but c'mon, give us some representation! just because we're in the SGV doesn't mean we only have those fake chiro places frontin' for "massage" offices. :p nor do we only have korean day spas.
i'm quite tempted to take a day and go relax. i need to unwind...badly. i've always been one of those who rarely ever go to spas because i get so caught up in life and don't seem to think it's important enough to indulge for myself - especially at some of these prices. but maybe after this assignment, i'll go and treat myself. we'll see.

i'm a fan of Fresh but find their products to be really pricey but whilst i was in Hong Kong earlier this year, i picked up a bottle of the Hesperides fragrance because it smelled so damn good....kinda like pomelos, grapefruits etc. i'm a sucker for grapefruit fragrances. i was actually trying to mask the moth-ball scent i'd be shrouded with daily when i stayed at my in-laws. now that summer has rolled around, it's a great scent to use especially when it's so humid and sticky here. $65.00
i'm so glad Burt's Bees came out w/ the Super Shiny Lip Gloss. the colors are great and the texture is just right. as much as i love their lip balm, i'm not a fan of their lip shimmer....the lip gloss however is really awesome. i got it in zesty red and nectar nude so far but i want to collect the other 2 colors as well. love it. i haven't been to the mall in ages (no time!) so i'm just picking up whatever i can find that is also good from Target! $6.99
and finally, i'm so so so so so in love with Jason Lavendar Satin Body Wash, it's not even funny. the scent is so relaxing and delicious AND i love the pump dispenser. i tried to tell TGILW it's not very good so he won't use it but now he loves it too. damn...i thought i could just have him continue to use his Oil of Olay Body Wash. :p $12.99
i'm sure i have more finds but my brain isn't functioning right now.
ok, back to work.
i hate to admit but i'm looking older as i look into the mirror. to upkeep my skin and youthfulness, i am interested in hearing about how the ladies (and guys) maintain their youthfulness? i wash my face with actual face wash and slather on the sunblock daily but it doesn't mean it slows down the aging process.
does anyone have a recommendation for a good non greasy night cream? word of advice: don't try oil of olay derma pods for the eyes. it made my eyes feel tired every time i used it.
has anyone used the microdermabrasion treatment in the day spa? those sound painful but sound worth it because it's supposedly gets rid of the dry skin.
much thanks in advance! all beauty secrets are welcomed!
Since it's late and I got nothing better to do, I'll write another fluffy entry. I'm proud of myself. I didn't use paper or plastic at the grocery store today. I actually used all 4 of my accumulated tote bags. hahaha... I really hate grocery shopping but this kinda makes it better. I even got 24 cents off my entire purchase (6 cents per bag). I think that's better compared to other stores where they only take out 5 cents from your whole purchase no matter how many tote bags you bring. Here's to being greener. =)
didn't think those $2 movie theaters exist anymore in this economy, did you? they still do!
the husband and i went to one of the fine regency theaters near our home recently and spent $4 total to watch the hulk this last saturday. it's great since this theater is showing all of the summer blockbusters for just $2 a pop.
con's
- you need to wait at least a month or two before (or if) it shows up at the theater
- the theater may be very run down. possible saggy seats, sticky floors, and lingering odor. the one theater we went to was very clean but of course was older. the seats actually looked pretty new and had cup holders. the floor was non sticky and there were air freshners installed in the halls. we lucked out! i think this con would be the #1 factor in preventing most people from going
- concessions are eh. popcorn is still ridiculously expensive even at these theaters. has anyone tried the carmel popcorn at the arclight? omg, it's heaven!
pro's
- duh, it's $2/person! it's perfect to see a movie you are not hankering to see but are curious to catch before it gets released on dvd.
- if you didn't like the movie, you don't have to recoil in regret of wasting money on a bad movie
- considering all the con's, you can save up to $8/person. that's lunch right there!
it's definitely not for everyone. we always go to the big stadium theaters if it's a movie we want to see during opening week. if it's an older movie we're curious about but we don't want to spend the $11 to see it, then the $2 theater works out well.
